How do I figure out my torso size?Updated 4 days ago
Selecting Your Pack Size
Most Hyperlite packs use a unified sizing system based on torso length—not overall height. choosing the correct torso size is the key to achieving the balanced, close-to-body carry our packs are known for. Once you know your torso measurement, that size applies consistently across all of our 40L, 55L, and 70L backpack models.
Note: Specialty vest-style packs (like the [Pemi 15](https://hyperlitemountaingear.com/products/pemi-15) or [Aero 32](https://hyperlitemountaingear.com/products/aero-32)) and certain Day Packs like the [Daybreak 22](https://hyperlitemountaingear.com/products/daybreak-22) may use chest circumference or a "one-size" fit. Always check the specific product page for unique fit guides.

How to Measure Your Torso
- Tilt your head slightly forward to locate the bony bump at the base of your neck—this is your 7th cervical (C7) vertebra.
- Using a flexible tape measure, have someone measure from that point down along the curve of your spine.
- Place your hands on your hips to feel your iliac crest, the top of your pelvic girdle. Position your hands so your thumbs reach behind you.
- Have your friend finish measuring where the tape crosses an imaginary line drawn between your thumbs. This distance is your torso length.
Torso Length Size Chart

Sizing Tip: If you fall exactly on the border between sizes, we recommend sizing up to ensure the most comfortable fit.
