How do I clean my Hyperlite Mountain Gear pack, stuff sack, or shelter?Updated a month ago

There are a few overarching principles to keep in mind when cleaning your Hyperlite Mountain Gear products. First, we recommend using non-detergent and non-oil based soaps with warm water to spot clean your pack, stuff sack, or shelter. Second, you should never use concentrated heat - such as from a clothes dryer, hairdryer, fireplace or wood stove - to dry your pack, stuff sack, or shelter.

We have an excellent article about cleaning and storing your gear for long term in our blog! We'll link this here for you so you don't have to travel too far.

For Packs, Stuff Sacks, and Accessories –

When cleaning your Hyperlite Mountain Gear pack, always remove the aluminum stays. Once the stays are removed, you can turn the pack inside out to clean the interior. Hand-wash in the tub, spot-cleaning with soap and warm water. Rinse with clean water, then let it hang upside down until dry. The same approach applies to our Stuff Sacks.

For Shelters, Tarps, and Tents –

Spot clean any areas that need it with a soft cloth. If you want to give your shelter a thorough cleaning, we suggest a hose on light pressure and soap. Air-dry your shelter by either pitching it and leaving it out with the door open or hang-dry it. Make sure your shelter is completely dry before folding and packing it into a Stuff Sack. This will help protect the fabric and keep it safe from any damage.
