DIY Zipper RepairsUpdated a month ago
If you experience any zipper damage/malfunction on your Shelter, regardless of purchase date, we ask that you first attempt a DIY Repair on the zipper in question. Should you be unsuccessful in attempting to repair your zipper malfunction on your own, please reach out to us and we can evaluate and offer an in house repair if deemed repairable.
We will have a video linked here that goes over the fix, but essentially you'll want to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to clamp the backside of the defective slider to bring it back into place. What happens is that when the slider is pulled on too much, under too high of tension, or simply too many times over the years the slider can start to separate slightly causing the teeth not to close properly. Clamping this slider down in the correct area forces it back into place and usually resolves the issue.
